I think people who scream corporations are evil are just the left wing version of people screaming the government is evil.

In itself they're neutral. They do what every business does, providing services and products. But, same as with governments, checks and balances are in order. Every force running totally unchecked sooner or later turns into something dangerous. It's only human to seek advantages where they're on offer. That's totally OK as long as there are certain rules to be followed. The absence of any rules on the other hand is a sure recipe for disaster.
