some kids even find elements of their upbringing they found lacking in later life
Friend of mine has a nephew, HORRIBLE child, expelled from more than 1 school, destructive, rages, still having laying on the ground kicking and screaming tantrums at age 12 (!), when he turned 18, joined the military and they shaped him up into a still deeply flawed, but functional adult.
I'll admit, when he signed up, I was mortified, I couldn't imagine him submitting to any discipline at all as he had never experienced any in his entire life up to that point. Turned out he LIKED it.
