Having said that, some historians and even social psychologists and even economists who look at patterns in human behavior can look at a potential pattern that might repeat. And even authors of fiction, like Orwell with 1984 and Animal Farm can use fiction as a mere reminder as to what western pluralistic societies should not do.
But bullshit claims like the episode of the Simpsons that depicted Lisa as an adult running against Trump was not a prophecy or a prediction. At best Trump might have seen it back then and thought "maybe someday I might want to do it". He is a narcissist so when that cartoon said "wouldn't it be absurd if" it might have made him think. But I think the real moment that asshole decided to run was when Obama made fun to his face at the press conference dinner.
My prediction will be that the GOP with Trump will continue what they have always done, increase tax breaks for the rich, through bullshit crumbs in very small tax breaks for the middle class, but compensate by more tax breaks for the rich, set up another bubble long term and or get us into another war.
Why do I claim that? Because that is the pattern the GOP has used for 36 years. The only throw crumbs when they think people are getting too close to the truth, a little red meat to get the public to back off.
