There's just not enough room in a book (not even the bible) for all the messed-up things Christianity alone is responsible for today and throughout history. If it's nothing but a chronicle of atrocities with no offer for redemption or a proposal to abandon the institution altogether, I fail to see the point of this venture and I would bet a publisher would too.
The book is not going to be about every messed up thing any self called Christian has ever done on the face of this planet. And to be honest asking me to do that is a bit absurd. I am writing a book on how personal experiences of atheists and their interactions with Christians. Sorry you don't understand the point of the book.
Well when I ask questions and you give sarcastic answers or avoid answering them altogether, that'll tend to happen. But it still sounds pretty pointless if there's no underlying conclusion you want to draw from that other than failure with no alternative or solution. I don't see people wanting to read a book that basically tells them 'You guys suck' without a 'but you can be better if you do X, Y and Z according to me.' Unless you're choosing not to disclose the premise of any conclusion, but you could just say so.
Can I also just ask, what is your actual proposed methodology for gathering material for this hypothetical book? I mean, if you're planning on using testimony from this site, how would you verify nobody's lying or exaggerating? Unless this is just an exercise so you can get an idea of what's common and try to focus the subject of the book around less-common forms of abuse.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
