Christians who act like this and then hide behind the cross and grace of god, wonder why I laugh when they try to tell me how Jesus has changed their lives.
Yea I've witnessed this myself. Especially from my mom. Its a kinda manipulation tactic isn't it.
Understand, it wasn't the behavior of other Christians that drove me from Christianity. But their behavior did make it easier for me to walk away once I made the decision to do so. In fact, worse than their bad behavior was the syrupy sweet way they'd try to love me back into the church. I didn't know if I was dealing with saccharin or high fructose corn syrup.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
