Can we talk about Trump's war on the scientific community?

Problem is that the US relies a lot on foreign scientists from all around the world. MIT may be world renowned but it's most certainly not staffed fully by American scientists. The applies to all academic institutions across the world. For example I worked in a world famous institute of biology in my last job and the UK scientists were probably outnumbered. So just by closing down the borders, stopping immigration, stopping funding and making America a hostile place to live Trump is hurting the scientific community. The same thing is happening in the UK.

It's not like they are stopping immigration entirely though. Foreign scientists are welcome in both the US and the UK, it is mass immigration that needs to and will stop.
