The right to freedom of speech is not a right to be protected from negative social reactions of said speech. It's simply the right to say what you please without fear of being censored by the government, not the right to say stupid and/or hateful things without any social consequences. People do not have a right to be treated with kid gloves when they say something stupid, or not be called hateful assholes when they act like one. That some people seem to think these are rights, or that they are being censored when those things happen, goes to show they have no sense of responsibility for the things they say.
