Right.  That political hack Bannon - who has zero relevant military experience - being installed in a position on the NSC that effectively outranks the CJCS - a four star general.

This is absolute batshit insanity, folks.

I actually heard someone on TV try to defend this move by pointing out that Bannon had been a Navy officer, as if that gave him the bona fides to sit in at this level.

At least the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Director of National Intelligence will 'get to' sit in when their experience is considered relevant. 

Insanity, indeed.

Which'll probably be five minutes after Bannon realises that unilaterally declaring on China & the EU is a bad idea; which'll be about half an hour after the cabinet relocates to Nome.
