I think Rome around 60 BC is the appropriate analogy to our situation. Will we sit on our pompous asses and watch the triumvirate remake the government into a money making scam for the rich or will we vote them out while we still have a chance.

The difference is Rome in 60 BC was an ascending power by virtue of everyone else of any consequence were declining even faster. US of 2017 is a descending power by virtue of most other nation of consequence are rising faster, and we are about to terminate the only remaining advantage our ignorant, yokelish country has, which is it attracts people who are, like, educated because these are immigrants and might make our country competitive out from under our fat lazy entitled but uneducated and underskilled rural and exoburb white male voters.
