I normally don't pay too much attention to these silly jesus movies but I recall a similar theatrical release for a piece of dog shit called "Patterns of Evidence." That was one a rehash of Exodus nonsense. I think it was Drippy who started a whole thread about it a couple of years ago. That too was given a one night release in the theaters. The idea seems to have been that this would not give the critics a chance to tear it apart. Once that is done they market it to gullible fools on DVD.
Tickets for the movie are selling for $12.50, whereas, all the other post-6 PM shows (15 theaters), are selling for $10.25, and so, the fundies are paying extra to watch 2 hours of bullshit. Question is, "Is this just a scam to make money?" If they haven't seen it yet, they need to go to Rogue One, before it disappears from the theaters; it's much, much, much more entertaining and at least quasi-realistic!
