Not 'I want you to have a happy, fulfilling life in whatever way you choose', or 'I want you to make your own mark on the world, be your own person.'
No, simply:
'This is how I brought you up, this is how I want you to live'.
It's a shame these people can't see their fellow humans as worthy of love and respect in and of themselves, it seems we're only worth something in relation to god. It sucks, and sometimes it hurts, but chin up old boy, there's good people out there. I'm glad your children will at least feel loved for themselves.
