Jesus is right. Love is the ONLY answer. But, it needs to be a two way street.

Jesus seemed to be pretty clear on his position that it doesn't need to be a two way street. How does 'love your enemy' give you the impression that he meant love has to be a two way street.

Radical love in the face of hate is powerful, but it's very difficult to practice. It's still what Jesus, whether he was real or just a character, was portrayed as expecting from his followers.

You are fully correct sir. What would have been more accurate would be "life would be better if it was a two way street". Unreciprocated love is difficult to maintain.
