They must have freedom to investigate and have access to information, they should not be condemned or oppressed for reporting the truth.
They must not be manipulated by polititians.
The agencies involved should not all be owned by a few individuals with agendas.
They must give more facts than opinions and when they do give opinions they should state out right that what they are saying is biased and not "balanced and fair".
Basically Trump and his cronies are trying to destroy the free press so they can carry out their horrible agendas.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.
