"culture", "class", "economic view", "political party", "nationality", "race", "religion" are all artificial constructs humans invent to set up social order.
Certainly there are economic issues and political ideas that hurt humans more, like theocracies and one party states. But unfortunately evolution does not care if cooperation, openness, or oppression work. None of the labels, not even "atheist" dictate if the individual will be violent or non violent, our behaviors are evolutionary.
Far too much of the world's population still sees "success" as local and tribal and far too much of the world is stuck in the local and tribal. If most humans could go to the moon and look back at earth, maybe they would understand what Sagan knows, what the empathetic of the world know, that this is our only home.
