We have crossed a point where they can't do that anymore. A lot of people and their own voter base is out for blood this 2018 look at what happened to Feinstien 
then you look at everyone else who they fucked over they have essentially fucked up so badly they won't be in power any longer. Same goes for Nancy Pelosi everyone hates her
after what she said. Simply put we know they lie and they don't care at this point they can't use well were better than republicans well no they are republicans if anything the rise 
of progressives is actually going to happen because of how shit they are. All in all Bernie proved you don't need corporatist ties or big money donors get get a voter base behind you.
Even a deep red state can flip and turn blue with the right person running and with the right mindset and goals this whole country over night in reality can turn blue. Everyone want's free college, healthcare, a living wage,  more war, all someone has to do is raise those points they will get people behind them. Even at a governor level you can do 3 of those things in any specific order except for war because the state can give you free healthcare, college and a living wage.
