Except that Jesus commanded us to love our neighbor as illustrated in the parable of the good Samaritan.
Show me how the bible says it would be okay for me to murder you.
In regards to just how pissed off God was with the Amalekites, please recall God specifically used the word "forever". There is no asterisk in scripture with a note at the bottom of the page saying something to the effect, well, God means forever until Jesus shows up.
So, without that asterisk, the Amalekites are, indeed, on the Holy Shitlist FOREVER.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
