America's obsession with guns

I am not imagining shit. We have had a gun injury/death epidemic for decades. The last time the GOP gave a shit about that was when Reagan and Brady got shot. I am tired of fucking giving one shit about coddling the insecurities of idiots who flip out over a non existent threat in order to protect our flooded market.

The protection of a flooded market is unlikely to be the aim of the sorts of shit you're referring to.  Politicians use guns as a wedge issue, it obviously works...........

The real threat is the marketing of the NRA. Just like big tobacco marketed cigarettes.

If gun manufacturers left this country entirely - the NRA would persist to continue doing exactly what it does now, while the corporate gun lobby would cease to exist.  

Yes it is a free for all because the GOP obstructs any laws that could reduce gun injuries and death. Our regulations are not universal, there is no universal background check, which a majority of Americans  and even the majority of gun owners want. 

How does pretending we live in a gun free-for-all serve the cause of effective gun regulations, or any other policy that might curtail a real problem that really exists?  

I see stories every fucking day out here in the sticks where I live. Shootings are not an urban thing only. 

The real threat is that another corporate lobby just like big oil, is bullying government to put profits over lives. Just like big pharma has created an opiod epidemic. Guns are simply another product with CEOs who care more about profits than public safety.

The corporate gun lobby is the NSSF, not the NRA.

OH bullshit, I could give a shit what loophole dodge of a name you want to give the NRA, they are there to act as a heat shield to protect firearm companies. 

That's like arguing chewing tobacco isn't tobacco because it isn't a cigarette. 

They not only collect money from their members, they get huge donations from the firearm companies and they court politicians too. Now if you want to claim that is not a lobby, I could give a shit less, they still do that.
