CIJS
Round two in court with his ex. Again, initiated by her. The first time we went through this, the then custody arrangement got changed from us having weekends to us having equal, split physical custody in addition to the already equal legal custody. This time? That agreement isn't even six months old and were going back, because of her petition to modify on some rather baseless reasons.
Her issues: very vaguely written, but here's the list: disparaging remarks, conflicting stories, one child's absences from school and dropping grades, my other half not having his own phone and finally, "other"
1- disparaging remarks - she's continually telling the kids that I am not their parent and that they do not have to listen to me while they are here. We aren't saying any bad stuff about her at all.
2- conflicting stories - the kids are telling her one thing and us another. That's hardly our fault since neither one of the wants a relationship with her after all the abuse she's dealt them.
3- grades and attendance - all absences were excused. Three came from her and four came from us. Oooh we have one more absence than she does on her watch. In addition, both kids have brought their grades up substantially - they get help with homework here, while she refuses to help over there. Also...she's got an unexcused lateness on her watch.
4 - my other half not having his own phone - for starters, he is not allowed to have a phone while at work. Plus, we share mine. In addition, he has a tablet and they do communicate via messenger so there is no problem here at all.
5- other - I can't say, being as it's extremely vague.
What I can say is that her house is infested with bedbugs that she's known about for over six months now. The children have been forced to sleep on cots, despite her getting more than enough support to get an exterminator in and bomb or spray. She also needs to be proactive and put in the work necessary to help eradicate the problem. She won't. Therefore, she puts the kids at risk for a disease because of constantly getting bit up over there.
There's so much more to this and I'm on my phone, but at the end of this latest court shit, she will be lucky to have supervised visitation.
Neither child wants to live there. They are old enough to tell the judge what they want.
Seems like we just can't get a break with this shit. Ever.
