That bad eh? Tbh when I saw the trailer, absolutely
nothing stood out to me as making me want to see it... but I figured 'maybe they're holding the good stuff back'

and that on top of Ridley Scott seeming very proud of it, I thought it would be worth going to see... but maybe he's just getting old. It almost becomes a sort of ethical decision really doesn't it? By going to see what is clearly a big name cash cow that is just trading off the names of Ridley Scott and Alien, you continue to fund and promote the production of shite sequels (or prequels)

Cos they know the Alien pull, and know they can probably make their money back just in the box office, even if everyone thinks it's crap. IMDB reviews bare out your and this perspective, which is a shame... guess it's just going the same way as all the other 'rebooted' franchises

The question for me is would I go and see AVP 2 at the cinema... and the answer is fuck no, unless I wanted to be sitting in pitch black for a couple of hours. AVP 1, yes, not a second thought... I'd probably be happy to watch that a million times in the cinema, but 2 was awful and it had so much promise. So do I want to go and have all my illusions shattered, or should I just give it a miss, wait for it to come out on TV and thus not buy into the continued production of shite sequels? We could watch something else
