Is not a fullfilling life for a cow.
The animals we eat get abused. Their entire lives. Be it short. Be it long.
It's fine if one doesn't want to think about it.
But if truly you get sad over how any meat at all got onto your plate, maybe you should concider becoming a vegetarian altogether. Just seems like a discrepancy in the mind to me, to be honest.
My best friend's a vegetarian. And I respect him for it. It's because he realizes what eating meat entails and since it goes against his principles he acts accordingly. I don't have those principles, at all, thus don't act like him. And he understands that of me. But the middle ground? That just seems strange to me, as well as to him.
But hey, that's just me. And whatever I have a problem with, shouldn't necessarily have to bother you.
