Oh my sister is worse.
She is principly against buying a car, because she says she doesn't want to rely on it. She feels, I think, that is the environmentally ethical thing to do. And if that was where it ended; fine. But then don't call me every time you need something from Ikea or when a family-party turned out late and you don't feel like biking back to your appartement or you need to get to a flee market 4 towns over at the crack of dawn.
I mean... some people respond that I'm making a false comparison because you HAVE to buy a car.
My response is... no you fucking don't. I don't have one. I can't even afford one. It's possible to live without one.
Driving a car just makes life a hell of a lot easier to get by. And if you actually love eating meat: so does eating meat. Eating meat helps me get through the fucking day: And without bacon I'd probably kill myself!
Okay I'm exaggerating a LITTLE bit but yeah I think the analogy stands, because both driving cars and eating meat are things people want to do and things that make a person's life easier... they aren't things you have to do.
Hell, there's no such thing as anything you HAVE to do (besides what you're already in the process of being motivated to do. Although you may stop being motivated if you stop being motivated)... you can starve yourself to death if you want to.
So yeah.
