Comey didn't totally ignore him, though. What Comey did was analyze his own responsibilities required by law, and filter the President's instructions through that.
Do you honestly think that orders from above are paramount? Do you honestly think that there is no higher responsibility? Shit, even as an Airman Basic in Basic Training, I was instructed to refuse illegal orders, and to place the law of the land above the officers appointed above me. We had a two-day class on that sort of personal responsibility.
What Trump instructed was clearly, as shown by his after-the-fact termination of Comey for not following his wishes, not in line with the rule of law.
If you're okay with that, great, I guess. But I don't agree with that crap.
