I was out-of-work for over 5 years, after getting laid-off from a job of 17 years, largely due to the medical expenses that my self-insured company (a Fortune 50 company, by the way) did not want to pay for a disabled son of mine who is non-verbal and non-toilet trained at age 12. We were on food stamps and heating assistance for a long time, and Obamacare saved the life of my wife and improved mine, not to mention getting my son and other kiddos the medical care that has improved their lives. And, so, to Donald Trump, all I can say is, "Fuck You!" You are a monster who swindled your way into the Presidency, and the only reason that I hope that you do not get impeached is so that you can lose in 2020.
Sorry to hear about your situation and your son. I'm glad there is government assistance, and it's truly needed. I'm all for it, especially for instances like yours. We don't want to get rid of government assistance programs, at least most Trump supporters I talk to agree with that. The point is to build the economy so those who are able to work but can't find a job, will be able to find a job, and get themselves off of welfare. The disabled should always receive assistance. I really don't think Trump wants to get rid of that, as much as the scare tactics and political pundits on the left are saying will happen.
In some areas, there are no jobs! I was an out-of-work IT professional, and no one wanted to hire me, much less interview me, and I had no baggage whatsoever. My present employer, finally, hired me 2 years ago, after some 15 attempts at getting a job here! I think that they had no choice but to hire me, as they are a government contractor. For years, I resented all of the foreign nationals (India, especially) who were in my town working a job that I, a native born American, would have loved to have had!! Is Trump going to change any of that? Maybe a little, by keeping more foreigners out of the country; however, as they are such a cheap source of labor, I think that Trump will know-tow to big business and simply allow them to come here and work at a reduced cost, which, by the way, as an American, I would have been very happy to have worked at "Indian wages"!
