\I would like to point out that the district this guy is from is fairly Liberal in itself, even without a college campus nearby.

I just read the article. As far as I am concerned, it does not matter if a student lives on or near campus within a political voting district for 2 years, 4 years, or 8 years or so, that student is a RESIDENT in that district. Any law passed in that district or state will have an impact, either positively or negatively to that student. Of course they have a right to vote.
This is just another attempt by Republicans to disenfranchise people. It is a shitty move by Conservative assholes.

Maybe if you weren't always such fucking cunts you wouldn't have to face angry constituents all the time.
I propose that Congressmen and any politician who do not listen to their constituents should be tarred and feathered. They don't necessarily have to be shot, but if they keep up their bullshit maybe they should be shot. People have had it it with the elected. Civil war, revolution, or coup d'estat, does not matter, shit is going to hit the fan if things don't start turning around. Again, I implore my fellow Progressives and Seculars to organize into militias. We will have to defend ourselves one day.

I wish I could call in certain conservative posters here, but we all know it's the violent leftists who heap scorn upon inoffensive, mute rightists, right?
Apparently taking away or hindering voting is somehow "American" for bastards...
Um no it is not new. The district map making, from my understanding is controlled by the winning party. The real problem of gerrymandering started 36 years ago with Reagan. The GOP controls the majority of state congresses and Governorships. The long term trend has to copy one law from one state and xerox it in another.
I do think that this was part of the plan all along after the Right Wing took over the Republican Party. This is how one brings Dominionists into power. They already infest our military.
