To be fair. Christians believe God originally planned it to be one man and one woman as Jesus said, it got retconned that God originally planned for it to be one man and one woman, but that people was so hardened in times of moses that it was ok with polygami marriage.

Matthew 19: 7-8

Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.

Ah ok. Yeah it seems polygamy is pretty unchristian. Even if it was a thing in the old testament

Matthew 19:5-6 And said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”


Though i guess you could interpret some suggestive way of it being ok with polygami. But it seems atleast hard to do if you are a Christian who takes this seriously.
