Why was the Romanov family executed?

You know what's ironic about this situation? Russians or at least people who were of Russian blood/heritage sort of faced a similar fate with the fall of communism in the 90s. Especially in predominantly Asian nations like Kazakhstan. My sister was a product of this. She is adopted and Russian. She was held in an orphanage in Almaty with several other Russian children. They did not want to keep these kids in the country so they were trying to get rid of them via adoption.
