I think the Semester system is better overall. It provides more time and I think it's easier to adjust to right out of high school. The Quarter system does allow you to take a greater variety of classes though. And I think for College, taking different classes helps you grow as a person and discover what you really want to do with yourself. You don't quite have that opportunity in the Semester system. But overall I like the Semester system better. I actually think it'd be nice if they had a year after high school where students just took different college type classes in a quarter-type system. Let them explore careers instead of trying to figure out what they want to do right away. (If you asked me what I wanted to do back in my Senior Year of High School, my answer would have been 'Nurse' or 'FBI Agent'. That changed early in college)
