You would be treated as a heretic by the vast majority of the church, Catholic and Protestant, for denying the divinity of Christ.

Anyway it depends what they mean by "divine".  He was half-human, half-God, so he was only "half-divine"..

Yeah, I have no problem with someone rejecting the pompous faux authority of organized religion and replacing it with the pompous faux authority of their own notions. Both organized religion and disorganized religionists always pass of their assertions as What God Told Me. No difference in principle, though your approach gives you more flexibility in the details.

The fact remains that I was addressing the claims of Christianity, not your particular claims.
