I actually have a suitable 240v receptacle, however, it's near the back of my garage and it would be more convenient to have a charger situated so that I can still charge if my other car is parked in the driveway ahead of it (driveway is long, but not wide). I don't want to have to juggle cars around any more than I have to. I'm gonna see what an electrician would charge, I already have existing conduit to run the lines, so unless my electric panel doesn't have capacity it may not be thousands. Won't know until I look.
I'm gonna take the consensus advice on charging and not charge to 100% or let it get too low. I don't really need to, I can do two round trips to work (17 miles each way) on 2/3 of a charge.
Did a 52 mile round trip yesterday, mixed freeway and city streets, the range prediction seems right on. It predicted 98 miles of range, I put on 52, and when done, it predicted 47 more miles of range with the battery charge indicator just below 50%. I didn't use the A/C though.
