US Subs have run into other vessels many times. The Snook caught a tow line with her sail, and there have been several collisions between US and USSR subs during the Cold War, and other times.
Submarine crashes
I had an uncle in the navy, he reported that subs bump into each other a lot more than one might think. However, especially due to the nature of sub missions; I would assume, that most are not known to the public. He even told me about a time, where the could hear another sub sinking. However could not help, because either they or the other subs country, couldn't acknowledge that it was in the area.
I don't think I could serve on a sub!
