Yes, quite comfortable.
I'm not sure how anyone can be comfortable with gullibility. But to each his or her own...
Quote:He will never help you when you are ill. He will never be your wingman in battle. Never protect you from harm.
Quote:I'm a recovered alcoholic and I give God the credit. Do I have absolute proof God cured me? No. Am I comfortable with that? Sure.
Here's a quick way to tell if it is likely that Yahweh/Jesus cured you: ask yourself, has here ever been a recovered alcoholic that is an atheist? A person of another religion?
If the answer is yes, then it is most likely that you recovered without any deity. You are giving credit to the nonexistent.
Take credit, man! You are responsible.
Quote:That’s the problem with believing in the unfalsifiable: You could be wrong and you’d never find out.
Quote:How exactly is that a problem for me? Sober, married 26 years, three children, good job...it's working out just fine.
As if none of those things could happen to an atheist, Hindu, Zoroastrian, Buddhist, etc, etc.
Maybe if you can demonstrate that those things happen at a significantly higher rate for Christians than people of other religions, or no religions, you may have a point.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
