I've said it before: In my more misanthropic moments, I sometimes wish McCain had won in '08 -- not because I think the country would have been better off but because I wouldn't have had to spend eight fucking years listening to ignorant anti-Obama rants by working-class GOP Bubbas. If those pricks had been forced to really own the Bush years they gave us, maybe we would have been spared our current presidential monstrosity.

It was the "working class Bubbas" in the rust belt and coal states who hadn't voted for a Republican president in 30 years that put Barack Odummer in the White House for two terms. The Dems lost them to President Trump because the dumb fucks capaigned on their obsession with identity politics rather than campaigning on bringing back jobs to those areas they once held.
