I know that sort of thing doesn't transfer well to trailers, but the story's strong enough that I'll keep my wait-and-see outlook and hope for the best.
IT in this adaptation is very fangy and monstery, more so that the previous movie, however it makes sense in the movie, he only really bares his fangs when he's about to eat someone.
I'm not sure what the sick humor you speak of is about since I haven't read the book, but I think the character in the movie definitely had a sick humor side to him. He was creepy as fuck too.
I loved the movie, and I don't like horror films generally, but this was one of the best horror movies I've seen in a long time. There's a specific part at the beginning with Georgie which I was not expecting at all, and (as Shell will confirm) I audibly said "Oh my god" in the cinema because it surprised me how fucked up (in a good way) it was.
