Because your god is actually an extension of yourself. Everyone's is. Whether you realize it or not, you are in fact your own god. You've painted a character on it, but that is indeed yourself that you're worshipping and praying to.
I don't think so. If so then I would just do whatever I wanted and just say God is ok with it.
