I haven't seen it (saw the original...ugh...) but it's rare to see a Stephen King adaptation done well. I don't see why it's so hard to translate from the page to the screen when the source material is often so good (if a tad too long-winded sometimes). Glad to hear one was able to impress in the way that so many others failed to. I did like Thinner even though almost all of the older films of King stories are awful, and liked The Mist a lot (haven't seen the new TV series, just the film) even if the ending was different than the novella, so maybe I'll check out It sometime. I don't have any friends who've seen it (we're all waiting for Kingsman 2) so I have little to go on as far as recommendations but this makes me want to consider it. I usually like to read the book first but never got around to that one (intimidatingly thick for when I was in middle school), same thing with Dark Tower, only I was sure as hell not going to start that one since it's an entire series.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
