What's the meaning or purpose of non existence? If there is none then even if the only purpose or meaning to life is to reproduce then that's already more. Also if we are the universe then whatever other meaning we apply to ourselves is universally significant. Lastly, just beause we haven't discovered any meaning outside what we give ourselves, that doesn't mean there is not one. There's just no good reason to believe there is one. Being alive gives us the opportunity to discover one. Something non existence can't provide.
