And this is how we end up with lying, pandering hacks like David Barton being taken seriously by a large number of people eager to have their views validated by a supposed authority. Barton is to serious history what William Lane Craig is to philosophy and the Discovery Institute is to science. You can’t read one of their articles without gagging on the stench of desperate dishonesty.
