Yep. It's a constant battle. As long as the roots survive, they come back - and the only thing that I've found effective on the roots is to pull the fuckers from the ground and burn or otherwise destroy them.
I wish I owned a piece of machinery versatile enough to shred 'em to the ground and till up the remains, while being nimble enough to navigate around the flora that I want to leave unmolested.
Alas, I have an aversion to debt so that empty space in my workshop is left unfilled.
