How would you know whether these people were GENUINE or not?  
I know countless religious people who just say that they are religious but within they are interested mainly in materialism.

Materialism make it impossible to be pure within and of course make it impossible to open the door to God.
People have to choose.
They can't have both.  

Knock it of with the "materialism" bullshit.

Atheists don't value "materialism" the way you want it to mean "greed" and "selfishness" and "lawlessness".

Atheist value FACTS, not superstitions, not old comic books. 

That does not mean we are selfish, that does not mean we are greedy, that does not mean we say we can do anything we want. It simply means we don't assign good or bad to COMIC BOOKS.

For the same reason you don't assign lightening to Thor.

Don't you know that within this moving and changing universe there are no such a thing as FACTS?
The evidence that is praised today as golden truth will be cast in the rubbish bin of history in the very near future and the fool that bet his balls on that evidence will lose his balls.
Life within this physical universe can be very very cruel.  
The only fact that is never changing and real doesn't belong in his created universe.
A creation involve that the creation itself can not be as smart as the creator.
