Take one more step buddy. I know you still want a God to exist. Christians do too. Jews do too. I find LOTS of good in the empathetic left that see their respective God in their claims of non violence, and I love that part. But I will still say the same to you that I do with the likes of Catholic Lady or any liberal Jew. I hear your desires all of you, for peace and non violence. I love every liberal for that desire, but to me, our species behaviors are not handed down to us, but in us.
I don't want you going off the deep end with this either. I don't want you thinking now that you are questioning your religion, that that is a licence for lawlessness or violence to believers. I just want you to question. I want you to see what I see. That it REALLY WILL be ok if you come to the conclusion that a god does not exist. That humans can do good and be good regardless.
There is no "creed" to me or loyalty to even my fellow atheists. My "creed" is to non violence and common law even if you piss me off or I piss you off.
I promise you there is no Allah to burn you, no Jesus to threaten Christians with Hell either. Just as there was never a Hawaiian Volcano god Pele to threaten Hawaiians to stay in line.
