It's a common theme in the fictional works of science fiction writer Robert Heinlein. It was also a thing in the excellent but short-lived science fiction series Firefly. In both cases, there were women who provided sex for pay but it wasn't a sleazy thing. The women were sweet and provided emotional gratification as well. In the case of Firefly. there was a strict code of behavior to which clients must adhere to or they would be black-listed and unable to hire other such women in the future. The women were also free to decline the propositions of any man with whom they did not feel comfortable.
I think this would be better than CL's idea of sex robots although that would work too. I just see this as a better alternative. If I was a young guy, desperate to have sex and wanting an emotional experience as well, this would be a better thing. There would just need to be a code of behavior and respect. The woman must not be treated as an object. We're talking about a totally new class here - women who are respected as providers.
So what do you say, ladies? Could this work?
You can hire prostitutes now that aren't drug addicted or STD ridden. But if you pay less I imagine you'd probably get sleezy, if you pay more you'd probably encounter cleaner women who call themselves escorts.
I think the problem with a romantic emotional experience is that paying for it cancels that out. I would find the experience less emotional and consider the girl less sweet knowing that as soon as my payment towards her ceases then the sweetness and emotion ends.
It would be like paying for "great friendship" from a guy who offers to laugh at your jokes and hang around with you as long as you pay him per hour. That doesn't really qualify for a great friend.
This is a myth. It is lack of regulation and education that causes spread of disease. Exploitation of sex is not a class issue anymore than use of opiates is a class issue. Exploitation of sex is a profit issue, not a class issue.
You can spread STDs even in marriage too. What can reduce unsafe conditions is REGULATION, and EDUCATION, and removing the stigma.
Unregulated exploitation happens in labor too. I think we should simply make prostitution legal, keep the unregulated street prostitution illegal, and provide safe conditions for the legal prostitutes. I don't think anyone is or should advocate sex slavery anymore than we should advocate keeping lead in paint.
