I lived under communist rule for a several years... communism wasn't very nice in Poland.... i remember the police hours after which we couldn't go out with the house
i remember people who denounced each other... i remember the empty shelves in the shops .. no sweets, meat and so on.... there was almost no TV....
but i also remember that as a kid, i spent good time with peers, because no one wanted to sit at home... so we spent a good time together....
but/and i am certainly not a Communist
