The most inspirational movies that left an indelible impression on you!
#68
RE: The most inspirational movies that left an indelible impression on you!
At my age and the way I consume media, I can't even begin to list all the movies that have impacted my life.

I do think Star Wars, because it was possibly my first introduction to a more eastern type of philosophy that I actually now live by.
The Princess Bride, because a person can't watch any movie as often as I've watched that and have it NOT leave an impression.  Inconceivable!
The Shawshank Redemption.  Humanizes prisoners, even murderers.  And reminds us that some people are innocent.  And never give up hope!
The Green Mile.  Absolutely beautiful story, also humanizing prisoners, and very anti-death penalty.
Auntie Mame.  The Rosalind Russel version.  Live, live live!  Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death! This is my go-to holiday movie, btw,
The Lego Movie.  Don't laugh, but it's a good reminder for parents to spend time with their children, and have patience with them, and not be too rigid.
The Matrix.  It may seem kinda trite, but it does make you think about just accepting the reality of things you've been taught.
Pay it Forward.  That movie created an idea and a movement that is still around today.  Such a beautiful movie.
Dead Poets Society.  I saw this when I was in my mid teens, and it really made me think about questioning authority, and how adults can impact kids.  It made me want to be an English teacher (and I proceeded to take a LOT of English classes after that, which helped grow my love of reading).
Glory.  Saw in my late teens. My first exposure to gritty racism.  Wow.

I'm sure there are more, but that's a pretty good list for now.

The one with Will Smith and the deadly jellyfish! Ironically I can't remember the name lol, but I seriously loved it.
