This is a splendid topic !
I can't specify my country exactly; but I'm Arabic. Once upon a time, this whole region was one, producing different music but with a unified label.
So; here we go:
My favorite favorite from the historic bunch. Turks are to the east of the region, they are not Arabs, but they used to rule this region. A mixture between Asia, Arabia and Europe. So, the Ottoman empire was quite something.. That's a song for the old time if you wanna call it like that.. makes me wanna cry.
Then came the generation of the 90s. This one is a single favorite, from Iraq, despite my hate for the singer (makes me feel too gloomy):
Last, from this age, this is the Lebanese "Nansy Ajram"; she is so talented. The song though is so Arabic; and has the proper rhythm all through:
