At the risk of simply repeating EvF and Ace's point (which is essentially what I'm doing , but it's such an important point that perhaps it needs to be made threefold, in 3 slightly different ways)

Disbelieving something because of a lack of evidence is NOT the same as believing something because there is no counter-evidence.

There are many things for which there is no counter-evidence. Faeries, Zeus, the abonimable snowman, Cthulu living in your toilet, but hiding round the U-bend where you can't see whenever you have to go, the list will only be exhausted when your imagination is.

Lack of evidence against these things is not reason to believe them.

If you reject the things I have listed, how can you believe in anything without evidence, without making a totally arbitrary decision about which things without evidence to reject?
