No. We aren't saying bc they died for it that it happened. We are saying bc they died for it they obviously didn't think it was a hoax that they were supposedly part of.
Unless they also got scammed...
Or, convinced themselves that the scam wasn't a scam...
Or, got killed over the scam, then the "historians" glossed over the truth and handed the glossed over tales down for 50-70 years until somebody finally wrote them down...
The possibilities are quite numerous when you can't even prove those people actually lived.
