I remember the 3 pointer being added, I am talking about 3 shots for a foul, not the 3 point shot itself. I never saw that before that game mentioned in the OP.
That's precisely what I was talking about. Those shots are called free throws. It's not that common, so you might have missed it if it was always there after they added the 3 pointer.
