The guy's actions were biblical.  I gave two examples.  Another example is maybe the girl didn't honor her father so he "stoned" her to death with a knife.  

Or maybe he is just a typical murderous crazy person.  Or maybe he got ticked off at his wife and killed their daughter to get back at her.  In any case all of those behaviors are documented in the Bible and (some) people love it.

If he doesn't die from his self-inflicted wound the English will give him a slap on the wrist and he'll be out of prison in no time.
