Not 17... 3. CIA, FBI, NSA. And I don't trust those three to tell the truth as far as I could spit a brick.
Four if you include the Director of National Intelligence who would have just taken the recommendation of the other three.
Holy fuck, nobody is saying blindly trust. It STILL remains that NO law agency, not even the CIA or Secret Service have a political party oath to serve in. THAT MEANS EVERY FUCKING LAW AGENCY has always been full of political pluralism as far as agents. Long term policy would be a better argument, but as far as stupidly assuming because one party is in charge, suddenly every single agent adapts the political party in charge.
WE DO have the oath of office, and that includes ANY and all law agents, AS INDIVIDUALS, and AS individuals for a conspiracy to work that would mean every individual agent of EVERY AGENCY would have to all agree and be in on the conspiracy all at the same time.
Do you really think despite that Comey served under BOTH parties, that means every single FBI AGENT was a voting republican as an individual? Are you going to claim that because asshole 45 is now president, every single law agent is a republican?
YOU can only argue policy in terms of politicians, but it is FUCKING STUPID to argue or even imply every CIA agent, every Department of Justice agent, every ATF agent, every Secret Service agent, all the way down to every cop, are all going to suddenly adapt the voting habits of the President just because someone won and someone lost?
There NEVER has been or should be a political party oath to hold a position of intel or law enforcement. Those agencies are ALWAYS politically diverse and always have been.
The President, House and Senate and Supreme court, OVER LONG PERIODS of time set the tone of policy. But agents as individuals DO NOT.
I don't trust my government blindly either, but I don't go to conspiracy levels just because my party doesn't win always. When my politicians don't win, I look at them, not law that takes an oath to protect all of us.
Policy goes through congress and gets signed by either President in charge. Intel and Law enforcement ARE still political pluralistic regardless.
If thousands of DIVERSE agents and multiple agencies ARE all full of democrats and republicans AS individuals and all those agencies are agreeing, I doubt every single individual in them is lying as a giant conspiracy.
Just like I hate that people STILL stupidly think JFK was a conspiracy. Just like I hate that some morons think that 9/11 was a conspiracy between Jews and Bush Jr.
Our intel has gotten it wrong, under both parties. And our presidents have made both good and bad policies LONG TERM under both parties. But over all, our agents AS INDIVIDUALS do the best they can.
