I'd personally love to live forever, but that doesn't mean I'm going to. It's actually a highly childish notion to think that pretending there's an afterlife somehow makes you immortal.
Yes, it is highly childish to think that you'll live forever. That's why Jesus said heaven is for people with a child like trust.
People forget what's it like to live without a care.
I have, it's called being an adult. So I don't wait for that chilled out feeling, I just believe.
I can't accept that people are born to perish.
I attended an accident scene where someone escaped death, though they didn't know it at the time.
They were a natural pain to live with - image oriented, competitive and ambitious, but suddenly vulnerable and coming into consciousness as a child does.
I saw a face of love and innocence, I was really taken back and reminded what God sees under all the masks.

Yes, to the best of our limited knowledge we presume that God does NOT take the better option.
That's living in doubt or skepticism, which is our way of protecting ourselves from deception and disappointment.
It saves us in many situations, and we live with worry as well.
This is our lot on earth, but not forever.
